Do you use a daily planner to organize your life? I have tried every kind of planner under the sun, both paper and digital, and none ever seem to work out the way I hope. I have quite a few planners that I ordered with the best of intentions, only to abandon them part way through the year. They were left to collect dust with their blank pages and broken dreams. Nevertheless, I keep trying because I believe in the power of writing things down. This year, I ordered the Living Well Planner by Ruth Soukup with nothing less than the highest of hopes for a successful year of planning.
I have followed Ruth for years – since one of her first viral articles from her blog Living Well Spending Less – the one about taking all of her kids’ toys away. I was intrigued by this concept and the success she continued to produce at home and in her business.
We seemed to have a lot in common, and she possessed a lot of attributes that I pursue for myself in my own daily life. Plus, she shared her valuable tips and tricks along the way instead of keeping them to herself.
An online pioneer of sorts, she was one of the first bloggers that I remember to begin teaching other women how to achieve the same level of success as herself. This resulted in a thriving online business with blogs, courses, live events, digital products, and physical products.
When Ruth created the Living Well Planner, I knew I had to check it out, but there were so many different planners on the market at the time. I had trouble choosing which one to use, stumbling my way through a few others before finally deciding to purchase my first Living Well Planner this year.
I credit Ruth’s uncanny ability to market her products to the masses. She makes everything seem so attainable that it’s hard to resist her pitch. I am hopeful that the Living Well Planner will live up to the hype. I have already started using mine, and so far – I am thrilled with the results!
The Ultimate Review of the Living Well Planner
I ordered the 2018 edition of the Living Well Planner with the brand new floral cover. The Living Well Planner was created to help you plan your whole life, not just your schedule, and that is what I love about this planner.
As a busy mom with a lot of things to keep track of, I need a place to write EVERYTHING down, so nothing falls through the cracks. This is why I prefer a paper planner over a digital one for day-to-day tasks – if I don’t write it down, it does not happen.
***Please note that the floral edition of the Living Well Planner is extremely popular and has been selling much faster than anticipated according to the Living Well Planner website. As a result, the floral and multi-stripe planners are currently back ordered until Nov. 30, 2018. Because quantities are limited and because this will be the last shipment before the end of the year, I highly recommend placing your order as soon as possible if you decide you want to try this planner.
- 7.5 x 9.5”

This planner is truly an all-in-one, which is great for busy women and moms who have a lot to keep track of on a day-to-day basis. From budgeting to meal planning, this planner has you covered. I’ve listed all of the features below that helped me make the decision of whether or not to invest in this planner.
Goal Setting //
I am a big believer in setting goals that encourage personal growth and help you create a life you love. This planner has specific pages dedicated to setting big-picture goals, as well as monthly goals.
The monthly goal-setting pages go even further to help you break your big goals down into bite-sized pieces, so you can see exactly what it is going to take to accomplish your dreams for the year.
Project Planning //
Each monthly section has a page dedicated to project planning. This is useful for planning birthday parties, home projects, work projects, etc.
This page helps you map out the details of the project, including space for important deadlines, tasks, notes, and ideas. I love that this is included right inside the planner eliminating the need for multiple notebooks.
This is obviously the most important part of the planner, and why most of us buy a planner. There is ample space in the Living Well Planner to keep track of your schedule and your daily to-dos.
Not only does the planner include pages to see your year-at-a-glance and important dates to remember, but there are also monthly and weekly spreads.
I like to be able to map out my month first, so I can see how everything fits together. The weekly spread includes a time log for each day, which is perfect for time-blocking, plus a place to write out your most important tasks and your meal plan for the week.
This enables you to get down to the nitty-gritty of what you need to accomplish each day without allowing things to slip through the cracks.
As if the goal-setting, project-planning, and scheduling pages weren’t enough, there are also pages in each monthly section to keep track of your budget and monthly expenses.
I do most of my budgeting with online software because I’m terrible at math. However, these pages are extremely detailed and would be perfect for brainstorming what needs to be included in the budget from one month to the next.
Things change from month to month, and while some budgetary items remain constant, others might need to be included one month and not the next. I love that these pages are available in case I want to use them – and they are great for those of you who like to see things written out on paper.
At the end of each monthly section, there is an entire page available to write down things you are grateful for or special memories you want to record from that month.
It is so important to sit down at the end of the month and reflect on what worked and what didn’t, as well as recognize the progress you’ve made on your goals even if it was small.
Logging memories and taking the time to express gratitude will do you a world of good before you begin to plan for the month ahead. There are also plenty of note-taking pages throughout that you can use however you wish.
If the thought of the all-in-one, beautifully designed, Living Well Planner overwhelms you, have not fear. The Living Well Planner resource site, Crushing It Central, was designed especially for Living Well Planner users who want more guidance on setting up and using the planner.
It is an entire site devoted to teaching you how to plan and achieve a life you love. You can access it as soon as you purchase your planner. There is a wealth of information available to help you get started.
Now it’s your turn
Both the floral and multi-stripe planners are currently back ordered until November, but they continue to sell at record pace. If you get your order in now, it should ship in time for you to start using it in the new year.
I ordered mine in August with the intention of using it in 2019, but I could wait! I started using it in October, and so far – I love it! I think you will too!
